PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Stanford University
2004-Present TOPP Program Manager
Provide support to the Tagging of Pacific Pelagics (TOPP) program in collaboration with the principal investigators Dr. Barbara Bock, Stanford University, Dr. Dan Costa, University of California Santa Cruz and Dr. Randall Kochevar, Monterey Bay Aquarium. Responsibility includes managing the procurement of both the satellite and archival tags used to track pelagic animals. Associated with this procurement is the capturing of meta-data associated with the acquisition, pre-deployment, deployment and recovery of these tags. In addition, there are electronic reports and data files that are acquired from the tags themselves that require cataloging. Entering metadata, report and data file information into MS Access databases. Other efforts include organizing, handling logistics and disseminating information to scientists. Organizing, writing and editing scientific reports. For a complete description of the to TOPP program visit http://www.topp.org/

Monterey Bay Aquarium
2000-2004 COMPASS Program Coordinator
Responsibilities included supporting the Communication Partnership for Science and the Sea (COMPASS) Program Manager and Special Events Manager as well as providing overall support for the program. Efforts also included handling the project’s budget and accounting functions, managing and developing large databases, managing and developing the COMPASS website, coordinating all project mailings and correspondences, handling logistics for large conferences. For a complete description of the to COMPASS program visit the following website, http://www.compassonline.org/.

2001-2003 Seafood Watch Writer
Responsible for writing seafood reports for Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch Program. This effort involved searching the peer reviewed and gray scientific literature for information regarding the biological stock status of particular species of seafood and compiling this information into a standardized report. This effort also included communicating with fisheries scientists for critical review of each report. For a complete description of the Seafood Watch program visit the following website, http://www.mbayaq.org/

2001-2004 TOPP Workshop Coordinator
Provided support to the Tagging of Pacific Pelagics (TOPP) program which included organizing, handling logistics and disseminating information to scientists attending the workshops as well as organizing, writing and editing workshop reports. In addition to this support, I advised hardware and software purchases and organized various content for the TOPP website as part of the Education Outreach efforts positioned at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Joseph Campbell Foundation
1997-2000 Archivist/Project Coordinator
Responsibilities included archiving the personal and professional papers of the late mythologist, Joseph Campbell. Managed all electronic mail received from the Joseph Campbell Foundations website (http://www.jcf.org). This position emphasized my ability to accomplish projects independently and required complete self-direction.

Moss Landing Marine Labs, San Jose State University
1992-2000 Research Associate
Primary research addressed seasonal production and physiological adaptation of the seagrass, Zostera marina. Most recent research addressed the potential use of hyperspectral radiance measurements to determine the abundance and distribution of submerged marine macrophytes. Other responsibilities included general lab maintenance ordering and maintaining office and lab supplies, photocopying, faxing and correspondence mailing.
