TOPP.org Lauded as "Best of Web"

Jane Stevens at TOPP.org. Allow me to brag a bit....our web site was among the top winners in TheScientist.com Laboratory Web Site and Video Awards. Out of 60 entries, six sites took honors. TOPP.org received the “Best of the Web” for three of the seven Judge’s Choice awards, with four lab sites receiving one each of the remaining judges’ votes. Readers’ Choice went to the NyborgLab Online, and editors’ choice went to Duke University’s Purves Lab. The judging process went this way: seven judges evaluated the 60 entries for design, usability, content, and community. Their top ten were put out to The Scientist readers and editors for their votes for an additional two categories: Readers' Choice and Editors' Choice.

The three judges that selected TOPP.org as their top choice are: Steve Jackson, a member of The Scientist's editorial board and is professor of biology in the department of zoology at Cambridge University, UK, studying DNA repair and DNA damage signaling; Elizabeth Kerr, director of science and technology markets for Apple, Inc, and a member of The Scientist’s editorial advisory board; and Todd Miller, the creative director at The Archer Group – an Internet marketing firm. He has spearheaded the Internet launch of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS).

Kudos go to Val Krist, TOPP.org's Web designer, who makes this site look so beautiful, and to Civic Actions, particularly Jacob Singh, Drupal magician, and Sam Lerner, Flash guru, and to Jenn Sramek, Civic Actions project manager.

Thank you, judges. We are thrilled!
