KQED-TV's QUEST Features TOPP

Jane Stevens, in Berkeley, CA - Check out "Tagging of Pacific Predators" on KQED-TV's QUEST! QUEST producers and videographers visited TOPP researchers earlier this year. Their story focuses on all of TOPP, explaining what it is and how scientists are getting an unprecedented view of the Pacific Ocean through the eyes of thousands of tagged animals. Featured species (and their respective researchers) include tuna, leatherback turtles and the great white shark released by Monterey Bay Aquarium. They also show researchers tagging elephant seals, an albatross, a mako shark, a whale, and a Humboldt squid.

For more information, go to the KQED QUEST site, where you can watch the 10-minute story.

There's also a Web extra -- an extended video interview with tuna researcher Barb Block.
