Nicole Teutschel at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, CA-- Elephant seals have made a big splash in the Ocean, in Google Earth. Today Google launched an Ocean platform in Google Earth!
TOPP has contributed stories, figures, and satellite data to Ocean. This partnership is geared towards enabling everyone to be able to better visualize tracking data, and of course... explore the Oceans right from their computer!

Each "pearl" above is a story with video or an image about the marine life in that area. Pearls include stories of science, discovery, marine life, industry, and oceanography. Ocean in Google, Monterey Bay
Ocean has all kinds of marine content. You can explore deep sea canyons, follow traveling white sharks along their journeys, find local surf and dive spots, learn about seafood watch, see video of coral reefs, breaching whales, and even "swim" down to ship wreaks!
So dive in! Check out the Ocean through Google! Be sure to say hi to Penelope when you’re traveling through the seas!
