How has your work changed what you eat?

Question from Ron Elterman:

I have a survey question for all the TOPP researchers. How has each of you changed your diet as a result of what you have learned, or from meeting these creatures in person?

Since I study seabirds that eat fish and squid, I would not say that I have changed the way I eat. However, I am more conscience about the amount of plastic that is used in packaging for food and other goods. Albatrosses and other marine animals consume plastic by mistake and this certainly is an avoidable problem. I try to purchase foods with less plastic packaging and I always try to pick up plastic trash.
